Procedure for incoming staff for a short period of teaching

Academic staff from partner institutions wishing to visit the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens for a short teaching period should contact the International Relations Office of their institution in order to be informed about their internal selection procedure. After the selection, partner institutions send their nominations to the NKUA European and International Relations Department’s email address erasmus[at]uoa[dot]gr.

Incoming staff members are required to have a B2 Language Level in English (the level is according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages -CEFR).

Following that, selected participants must read carefully all information posted on this website and submit all necessary documents on time.

Necessary documents to be sent by selected participants to the European and International Relations Department’s email address erasmus[at]uoa[dot]gr

 Two months prior to the mobility period

  1. Online Application for Teaching (Instructions for the application)
  2. Completed and signed Mobility Agreement for Teaching
  3. Curriculum Vitae
  4. Document issued by the bank (IN ENGLISH), stating the details of the bank account of the participant where the financial support should be transferred (bank account number, bank account holder, bank name, Address of the bank branch, Clearing/BIC/SWIFT number, IBAN number) and photocopy of the first page of the bank passbook
  5. Photocopy of a valid passport

 One month prior to the mobility period

  1. Photocopy of visa (if necessary)
  2. Photocopy of the insurance contract issued or translated in ENGLISH covering:
    • basic (national) health care insurance
    • personal accident insurance
  3. Photocopy of the ticket or e-ticket and receipt of payment of the ticket

 Upon arrival at NKUA (1st day)

Check-in at the European and International Relations Department of NKUA (Historical Central Building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Propylaia, 30, Panepistimiou street, 106 79 Athens, Greece) http://maps.uoa.gr/en/

  • Sign the original Erasmus+ Grant Agreement for Teaching. The European and International Relations Department will then start immediately the procedure of payment of the first part (70%). The Grant agreement and the order of payment will be sent to the Accounting department in order to proceed to the bank transfer the following days.
  • Submit the original ticket or e-ticket, the receipt of payment and the arrival boarding pass.

 Leaving NKUA (5th day)

Check out at the European and International Relations Department of the NKUA

 After departure and within 20 calendar days

  • You will receive from the European Commission an automatic email (please check the folder of junk/spam of your email inbox too) with a link to complete and submit the online EU Survey. Participants who fail to complete and submit the online EU Survey may be required to partially or fully reimburse the financial support received.
  • Send at erasmus[at]uoa[dot]gr
    • the departure boarding pass
    • a short report of the teaching and other activities during the visit  accompanied by a short photo gallery.

Following that, NKUA will start the procedure of payment of the second part of the financial support (30%).
