SHORT/BLENDED MOBILITY (5-30 DAYS)

This Erasmus+ program is designed for students selected by NKUA and their Home Universities to participate in short-term physical mobility programs that also include a mandatory virtual component. These programs are organized by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

Duration: Between 5 and 30 days (depending on the period agreed for each case; details will be provided in the call from your Home Institution).

How to Participate?
To apply, you must first contact your university’s International Relations Office to learn about their selection process.


 1️⃣NOMINATION

Once selected, participants must be nominated by their home institution before proceeding with their application.

Nomination process:
Partner institutions must email the Nomination Letter to  erasmus@uoa.gr

Nomination Deadlines:
Spring semester: November 30
Winter semester: May 30

Once nominated, participants will receive guidance from the European and International Relations Department on the next steps.


2️⃣APPLICATION

2.1. Online Application 

Required Documents:

  • Letter of Invitation from an NKUA School/Department or BIP Coordinator, for 5 consecutive days of activity
  • Copy of a valid passport
  • Mobility Agreement for Studies (Click here to download), signed by: The applicant, the home university’s Erasmus+ coordinator, and the academic coordinator of the host department at NKUA.

Upon successful submission, you will receive your Letter of Acceptance.

2.2. Additional documentation  


At least 40 working days before mobility, participants must also email:

  1. Flight ticket or e-ticket
  2. Ticket/s Invoice/Proof of payment
  3. Insurance contract in English  that covers the entire period of mobility
  4. Visa copy (if required)

  5. (Only for those interested) Top-up Grant Request for participants with fewer opportunities 

    First, please verify whether a top-up grant for mobility from your university has been approved by the National Agency by contacting the Department of European and International Relations. If a grant has been approved and you meet the eligibility criteria, please have your home university review the required supporting documents, complete, and sign the first page of the Top-up Grant Request Form (click to download). The terms and conditions for eligibility are provided on the second page.

  7. Solemn Declaration stating that participant does not possess a Greek Tax Identification Number (AFM) (click to download
  8. Banking Details Form completed by the participant (click to dowload) - Please send this document back in word format
  9. A document issued by the participant's bank containing the details of the participant's bank account where the financial support is to be transferred, with a clarification that it will be used for the transfer of an international wire, including mandatorily: 

    ♦ bank account number,
    ♦ account holder name,
    ♦ bank name,
    ♦ address of the bank branch,
    ♦ Clearing/BIC/SWIFT number, and
    ♦ IBAN number

Please have in mind that these procedures may take a considerable number of days and/or weeks, so it is recommended that you initiate preparing your documents as soon as possible.

2.3. Grant agreement  


Once the European and International Relations Department has received all required documents on time, participants will receive their Erasmus+ Grant Agreement by email, along with instructions for signing and sending it back.

2.4. Check in at the European and International Office  (during the mobility)


During your activity period at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and following prior arrangement, it is mandatory to check in at the Office of European and International Relations (30 Panepistimiou Street, 106 79, Athens) for the signing of the original documents.


3️⃣ AFTER THE MOBILITY (and within 10 days)

After the end of the mobility, and within 10 days, participants should send the following documents by email to erasmus@uoa.gr:

  1. Copies of the arrival and departure boarding passes
  2. A duly completed and signed Certificate of Attendance, signed by the NKUA academic coordinator of your mobility (Click here to download)
  3. A brief report detailing the activities during your mobility
  4. the EU Participant Report they will receive from the European Commission via automatic email on the last day of their mobility.

After the completion of your mobility period, you will receive an automated email at the address you provided in your application, with the subject “Erasmus+ Participant Survey.” By following the instructions in the email, you will be required to complete and submit the final report electronically. After submitting the report, please save it as a PDF file and send it along with the rest of the required supporting documents.

Please note that the submission of the Participant Final Report through the online tool (EU Survey) is mandatory and is considered a request for the payment of the remaining amount (20%) of the grant.

If you did not receive the automated email regarding the submission of the Participant Final Report:

- Please check your spam/junk mail folder.

- If the message is still not found, please contact the Department of European & International Relations.


FINANCIAL MATTERS

Students participating in short-term studies activities are eligible for funding for the following:

  • 5-30 Mobility Days
  • Top-up for participants with fewer opportunities - To verify whether a top-up grant for a mobility from your university has been approved by the National Agency, please contact the Department of European and International Relations first
  • Two (2) Travel Days (at least 1 day before the start and 1 day after the end of the activity, if applicable and utilized)
  • Travel Expenses
  • Green Travel (if applicable, for environmentally sustainable travel options)
