LONG-TERM MOBILITY FOR STUDIES (2+ MONTHS) / GENERAL INFO

Organized by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), this Erasmus+ program is designed for international students who are initially selected and nominated by their home partner institutions to participate in a long-term mobility for a semester or a full academic year.

🔸Mobility Duration

  • Timeframe: Between 2 and 12 months, depending on the specific bilateral agreement.
  • Typical Stay: Most mobilities last for one academic semester. Specific details regarding the duration will be provided in the official call issued by your Home Institution.

🔸How to Participate

To apply for an Erasmus+ mobility at NKUA, you must first contact the International Relations / Erasmus+ Office of your Home University to learn about their internal selection criteria, application procedures, and deadlines. Direct applications without an official nomination from a partner university cannot be processed.

🔸Language Requirements

To ensure a smooth academic integration, nominated students must meet the following language criteria:

  • General Requirement: Students must demonstrate at least a B2 level proficiency (CEFR) in either Greek or English, depending on the language of instruction of the chosen courses.
  • Postgraduate Programs (Master's / PhD): Postgraduate participants must strictly meet the specific language prerequisites defined by their chosen program. While many postgraduate courses are taught in English, some are also offered in French, German, Spanish, or Italian.
  • Special Arrangements (English-only): For academic departments where courses are primarily taught in Greek, special arrangements are often available for Erasmus+ students who speak only English. These typically include tailored essay assignments and independent study using English bibliography.
